Oh, the sweet sound of money. Now, that’s my jam!
I remember the first one. I always will. Glimmering like a star and as ancient as a civilization long gone. This tiny little piece of metal, forged during times that would never be again, had known centuries of trade, joys and tears. Henceforth useless, purified of all material purpose, what remains of that coin? Just an echo of past lives. Tales.
This thinking inspired me with an awe that never left me. I dedicated my entire existence to the « coin fever », exploring the most haunted places to chase ghost currencies. I often wonder how many stories could fit in the palm of my hand.
Let’s see!

CoinQuest was made for the Ludum Dare 44 by :
Bertrand "Darfeld" Vié-Ducasse : programmation, integration
Camille "Poulpette" Anceau : scenery art, sounds mix, texts
Cédric "Poioioio" Martin : character art, programmation
Max Morkson : proofreading, title finder
Graphics arts were completely made from scratch with Krita and Piskel
Music & Sounds were gathered on Universal-soundbank and mixed with Audacity
Black Chancery Font by Earl Allen/Doug Miles
Version details :
- 1.0: released 7 minutes before the end. Title screen lacked an eventSystem.
- 1.0b: released 5 minutes after deadline. Harsh and still very messy, but it works. Maaany assets still waiting for integration : texts, screens and scenery embellishment.
- [POSTJAM]1.1: incorporate the texts, with basic win/defeat conditions.
- [POSTJAM]1.2: galleon's collider updated, more coins, hud tweaks
